June 5, 2024 - We're still golfing!

This year, six classmates played in the 28th annual show of IE6T7 athletic prowess. And just like last year, it demonstrated the further erosion of our class's golfing competence.

In the tradition of recent years, all golf was from the red tees with double par the max for each hole. In some cases foot wedges were allowed due to the unplayability of the bunkers at Parkview. There were two threesomes in the event: the first group was John Adare, Ray Bailey and Bob Demcoe, the second was John Pullam, Jim Allen and Doug Stephens. None of the fairer sex were in attendance for the golf because their spouses were unable to play this year.

Jim Allen, having won the event for the last two years, made a valiant effort to retain the trophy, but alas, he choked and came up with the prize for most honest golfer. Ray Bailey shot a net 68 in a tie with John Adare for the low net, but was awarded the win through retrogression. See the pic on the right where Pullam gives the trophy to Ray to take home and proudly show to all his friends and family. This is Ray's first win, so he'll be back next year and award it to next year's winner. Hey Ray, your handicap goes down now, so it'll be tough to repeat.

Once again, Doug Stephens took the low gross, narrowly beating out Pullam with a string of pars on the back nine. This is getting monotonous. Bob Demcoe gets the prize for longest drive (3671 km. from Athabasca).

A bunch of folks joined us for the after party. Les & Sylvia Segal, Lois Demcoe, Sue Fenwick and Zohir Handy all came to share the camaraderie and help consume copious amounts of food and suds.
