June 6, 2014 - A fabulous day! The weather was awesome for the annual IE6T7 class golfing event, held this year at Hornby Glen Golf Course in the far reaches of western Milton. Pullam made the call to go west to pacify those on the wrong side of Yonge Street, most notably Dave Lynch. But Dave wasted his big opportunity by having another heart attack and taking a few days off from his game. Dave was heard to moan that his groin was really sore from the operation, to which Swan replied "We didn't know you had a groin, Dave!" We hope to see you at next year's event in beautiful Peterborough, Dave, so we can check out your latest scar. Bob Demcoe headed back to Northern Alberta so he wasn't around to defend his crown from 2013. In his place, Doug Fraser awards the trophy to this year's winner, Phil Baldwin. As Fraz said, "This is as close as I'm ever going to get to this trophy so I want to hold it and caress it a little bit longer." Baldwin shot a net 67, exploiting his full 29 handicap to grab the trophy. Rumour has it he putt like a pro, sinking 5 footers with ease. Baldwin also got long drive this year, narrowly squeeking past Pullam by inches. Good thing he didn't realize it was the long drive hole. Pullam came through on the low gross though. With Lynch away and Stephens still working on returning to his winning form, this was easy pickings. Gup took close to the hole with an impressive shot. Adare tried to cheat and put his name on the marker but other members of his foursome caught him in the act. Zohir showed up this year but he was wearing jeans so he couldn't play. Some of the boys offerred him their pants but nothing would work on Zohir's svelte frame. Maybe next year, eh? Third time's a charm. Bagel insisted on hitting from the women's tees again this year and Fraz opted to join him. Is there a message here Les? So here's how we scored:
