June 7, 2013 - Demcoe Does It! Now that Bob Demcoe has relocated back to southern Ontario his game is coming around. I guess all that golf on the tundra in Northern Alberta wasn't so good for the swing? Here Dave Lynch presents his newly redesigned trophy complete with the no-cost wooden base which he finished in a stylish grey using the leftover paint is his basement. (See closeup shot below.) The quality of golf is not getting any better with age, but Bob managed to shoot a sizzling net 67, blowing away the nearest competitor by 3 strokes. That handicap needs adjustment! Not to be outdone, Allen forgot to pick up the long drive marker from the 5th hole but the marshall knew he was following a group of seniors so he fetched it and brought it to us. Profitting from Doug Stephen's absence due to chemo, Dave Lynch grabbed the low gross money and was the only golfer who even hit the green on the close-to-the-pin contest. Swan took the long drive contest with a towering 3 wood shot that took advantage of the prevailing wind. Madott's incompetence won him "most honest golfer"; usually we don't do anything for that, but with 9 golfers it was easier to give him his money back and divide the rest of the pot by 4. Zohir was a last minute cancellation, claiming an old sports injury was acting up, but he managed to make it to the bar on time. So here's how we scored:
